Brief History of Morgan D. Lane

Morgan D. Lane (1844 – July 19, 1892) was a Chief Bugler in the Union Army and a Medal of Honor recipient for his role in the American Civil War. a private in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, was distinguished for his action in The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Morgan D. Lane, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 6 April 1865, while serving with Signal Corps, in action at Jetersville, Virginia, for capture of flag of gunboat Nansemond.
