The intent of this award is to recognize those non-government, government civilians, or uniformed members of the armed forces, other than those of the Signal Regiment, who have made significant contributions over a period of time to the Regiment or the Association. Specifically, such individuals could be federal, state, or local government officials, military members from a different department or branch, industry partners, or community leaders deserving special recognition. The justification for this award is based primarily on their long term relationship with the Regiment.
Nomination Criteria for Brevet Colonel
To nominate someone for the Brevet Colonel, prepare a nomination letter and a one-page letter of justification. Forward the nomination with justification, along with $35 payment for the award, to SCRA national headquarters. The nomination packet should arrive at SCRA National Headquarters not later than four weeks before the desired presentation date. SCRA will forward the approved award to the nominator, or return the package and prepayment if disapproved.
The National SCRA Awards Board is the only approving authority for the Brevet Colonel Award.
